Director of “Atomic Energy” to visit Tehran on Monday

Next Monday, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, will arrive in Tehran, on a visit that comes days before the resumption of talks between Iran and major powers aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear agreement.
The announcement of the visit was issued on the day the IAEA confirmed that Iran had significantly increased its stockpile of highly enriched uranium, and denied any role for its cameras in the sabotage of an Iranian nuclear facility in June.
Grossi’s meetings in the Iranian capital coincide with the start of the regular meeting of the Board of Governors of the United Nations International Agency, based in Vienna. It also comes a week before Tehran and the international powers return to the table of talks aimed at reviving the agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program, from which Washington withdrew three years ago.
“Grossi will arrive in Tehran on Monday,” Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, was quoted by official Iranian media as saying. Kamalvandi said: Grossi will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator during the visit.
