Today, Wednesday, the Israeli police recovered a stolen Torah manuscript that is hundreds of years old, and its origins are from Baghdad, in a house in northern Israel.
The authorities said that a suspect in the town of Umm al-Fahm planned to sell the manuscript for hundreds of thousands of shekels, noting that four suspects were arrested in the case on suspicion of smuggling antiquities and possession of stolen property.
The manuscript was found in the home of the main suspect, a 64-year-old man, and police are investigating the case alongside the Israel Antiquities Authority.
