WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been granted permission to marry his partner, Stella Morris, in his London prison.
The British PA Media Agency reported that Assange has been detained in Belmarsh Prison in London since 2019, after the United States took legal measures to extradite him. It is noteworthy that the two met while Assange was living in the Ecuadorean embassy in London, in an attempt to avoid extradition, and they have two children. “I am relieved that it was right and I hope there will be no further interference in our marriage,” Morris told PA Media. A spokesman for the Prisons Authority said: “Assange’s request was received, studied and dealt with in the usual manner by the prison warden, as is the case with any other prisoner.”
