On his Twitter account, Darmanin wrote in this regard: “At my request, the Governor of Sarth intends to close the Alon Mosque for a period of six months. The sermons read in this mosque largely justify armed jihad and at the same time promote feelings of hatred towards France.”

And radio “France Bleu” quoted the governor of Sarthe province, that the investigation showed that the imams who preach in this mosque called the French “infidels and Islamophobes.”

It was also noted that one of the leaders of the associations that run the religious site explained to the mosque-goers in October 2020 that France had declared war on Islam and that it was necessary to prepare to fight Islamophobia.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office in the French city of Le Mans, in the Sarthe district, had earlier reported that the investigation had begun in the Alon municipality mosque after the Sarthe province, by order of the French Minister of the Interior, initiated measures to close it, on the grounds that it was propaganda for armed jihad.

This mosque, which is run by the two local associations, Just Milio and Al-Qalam, is attended by about 300 people.
