US Army vehicles in Syria
The people of Hamo village in the eastern countryside of Qamishli intercepted a military convoy of the American forces while trying to pass near the village, and forced it to retreat and return to where it came from.
Local sources told the official Syrian news agency, SANA, that “a convoy consisting of three armored vehicles and a Hummer tried to pass to the city of Qamishli via the international road near the village, but the people intercepted the convoy and threw stones and forced it to retreat.”
Activists on social media circulated a video clip documenting the moment the townspeople objected to the American military convoy.
Over the past months, the residents of Hamo village in the Qamishli countryside have confronted several times of columns of US army vehicles that tried to enter the village or pass alongside it, and forced them, with the support of the Syrian army, to leave and return to where they came from.
