Al Yah Satellite Communications Company announced yesterday that it was officially commissioned to conduct a comprehensive study to support the conclusion of a contract, with the aim of increasing the space capacity that the UAE government currently benefits from, represented by the company’s strategic partner, through the satellites “Al Yah 1” and “Al Yah 2”, by manufacturing The launch of two additional potential satellites, Al Yah 4 and Al Yah 5, in order to consolidate its current relationship with the UAE government.

The expected new capacity will enhance the high productivity of secure communications services, currently contracted on the Al Yah 1 and Al Yah 2 satellites, while expanding coverage, improving technical capabilities, and adding new space capacities to meet the requirements of the next generation of the UAE government. The joint use of the Al Yah 4 and Al Yah 5 satellites, in addition to the current Al Yah 1 and Al Yah 2 satellites, which are expected to continue operating for several years to come, will contribute to enhancing Yahsat’s future growth plans and enabling it to Achieving stronger profits and returns for shareholders in the long term.

Yahsat will follow the request for proposal process to identify satellite manufacturers capable of providing the best technical and commercial communications solutions for the manufacture of two geostationary satellites, with a potential launch by 2026. After that, Yahsat will present its recommendation to the UAE government.
