Households experience a sharp deterioration in living standards. In the fourth quarter of 2020, 59.8% of households report a deterioration in the standard of living over the last 12 months, 27% a maintenance at the same level and 13.2% an improvement.
The balance of opinion on the past evolution of living standards remained negative, at minus 46.6 points, against minus 35.6 points in the previous quarter and minus 20 points in the same quarter of last year.
Over the next 12 months, 41.7% of households expect a deterioration in living standards, 34% to maintain it at the same level and 24.3% to improve. Thus, with minus 17.4 points, the balance of opinion relating to this indicator remained the same compared to the previous quarter, whereas it deteriorated compared to the same quarter of the previous year (minus 2, 2 points).
