Snapchat Spotlight – Now you can make money on Snapchat

A few years ago, Snapchat was the big hype app everyone wanted to use and copy.

Now it is TikTok who has taken over the throne. Instagram is investing heavily in Reels, and now Snapchat seems to be following suit with its own variant.

Today they launch Spotlight (called “Spotlight” in Norwegian), a new platform in the Snapchat app that focuses on content created by users.

Here, entertaining snaps from Snapchat users are gathered, which over time will be adapted to each individual user, based on preferences and favorites, the company states.

It is basically reminiscent of TikTok, including the use of hashtags. As far as we can see, you scroll through snaps by swiping down, just like on TikTok.

According to Snapchat, however, they should have an increased focus on security for the user by moderating the content. They also do not allow public comments.

Lures with cash prizes

In connection with the launch, and probably to speed up its use, Snapchat will premiere the best videos with up to one million dollars per day. This currently applies until the end of 2020.

However, Snapchat users must be over 16 years of age and must have parental permission to profit, where applicable, according to the company.

Norway first out

Initially, Spotlight will be available in Norway, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France.
