The businesswoman, daughter of former President of Angola José Eduardo dos Santos, faces a “deep void” with the death of her husband, Sindika Dokolo, at 48, while diving in Dubai.

Friends now fear for the health of Isabel, who is still trying to digest what happened to the father of her four children, with whom she had a relationship about two decades ago. There are many condolences to what was once called the Princess of Angola, but Isabel prefers to remain silent during this period of mourning.

On social media, she just published a photo of the beginning of the relationship with Sindika with the message to inform about the death of her husband, which had already been shared by the family. POLICE CLARIFY

Shortly after the news of Sindika’s death, several sources pointed to contradictory versions of the tragedy. If there were those who guaranteed that Isabel dos Santos’ husband had suffered a pulmonary embolism while emerging from the dive, other sources reported a headache, which would have been fatal.

Presidential candidate Ana Gomes went even further by stating that the death of Sindika Dokolo – also accused of several crimes, alongside the woman – was “very strange”.

However, after the first few days of speculation, the Dubai police, where the couple were on vacation at the time of the accident, declared that they did not suspect any “criminal act” in the businessman’s death.

“We do not suspect any criminal act in the death of businessman Sindika Dokolo, 48, who drowned while snorkeling in the North of the island of Deira”, the emirate police announced in a statement.

According to the authorities, the warning was given on October 29, when they received “an emergency call” to warn of an accident at sea. Rescue teams were “immediately sent” to the scene, but they were unable to do anything, since Isabel dos Santos’ husband was already lifeless. Several attempts at resuscitation have been carried out, but to no avail.

Sindika Dokolo practiced a form of diving, locally known as ‘al-hivari’, which does not use breathing equipment and relies on the exclusive use of the air in the lungs.

The statements by friends of the businessman and the medico-legal report allowed “to conclude that there is no suspicion of crime in this death,” said the general.

MILLIONAIRE MARRIAGE

Isabel dos Santos and Sindika Dokolo fell in love in 1999 and got married three years later, in a ceremony considered a millionaire, which remains for history as one of the most luxurious in Angola.

Throughout the two decades of life together, the couple, who had four children, always remained together and, on social networks, the exchange of declarations of love was a constant. The couple was in the habit of sharing several passionate photographs of their travels around the world, always with their children.
