RNLI officials have warned visitors enjoying a halftime break in the county to stay away from the water, raise red flags and close the beach because they fear someone could be injured.
But it didn’t stop ruthless thrill seekers from dodging huge waves to run across the sand – while an idiot jumped off the wall into the “wild” sea.
The photographer Colin Paul, who spotted the man who jumped into the water, called him an “idiot”.

Photos show the foam that extends past the driver’s side window and completely covers the windshield.
And a family of nine screamed in fear when they were washed up at sea 40 miles from Padstow Beach yesterday.

The family was hit by a wave of freaks in Gwithian.
They had been sitting on rocks above the swell when they were knocked off their feet and dragged into the water.
Terrified bystanders called emergency services and RNLI volunteers, Coast Guard officers and the Cornwall Air Ambulance were called to the beach.
RNLI helmsman Rob Cocking said: “Luckily everyone made it and was immediately met by the waiting ambulance.”
Two family members had to be treated in the hospital.
A picture of giant waves was posted on Twitter by the witness Lincoln Green, who said, “These waves wiped out almost an entire family on the beach.
“They were about 10 feet from the water, but a freak wave came and pulled them out.”
Steve Instance, RNLI head of water safety in the Southwest, said the waves would be particularly violent today.
“Sea conditions will be extremely dangerous and it is likely that most of the beaches will be marked in red with huge waves, strong currents and increased tidal fluctuations,” he said.
