Establishment of a new commercial management system for customers in Marrakech.

Abderrahim El Hafidi, Director General of the National Office for Electricity and Potable Water (ONEE) chaired, on Saturday October 17, 2020 in Marrakech, in the presence of Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Energy, Mines and of the Environment, a meeting marking the end of the deployment at the level of all the regional entities of the Office of a new commercial management system reserved for ONEE customers with prepayment meters.

This ambitious project, which is part of the continuous improvement of the quality of service provided to the Office’s customers, consisted of the implementation of a new solution based on an integrated software package of international renown interfaced , in real time, with a new generation of standard and interoperable prepayment meters. The objective is to strengthen the level of quality of service in remote isolated rural regions through the provision of the following functionalities:

• Recharge by customers at any point of sale across the country,

• Possibility for the customer to recharge at any time without necessarily having a recharge card, for new generation meters,

• Maintenance of the customer’s consumption in Kwh in the event of loss of the recharge code,

• Extension of the local external network made up of recharging points and energy sales for prepayment customers.

The design, development and configuration of this solution were carried out by internal skills of ONEE made up of business experts, representatives of end users and the Office’s Information Systems Department, in partnership with the editor of the integrated software package.

In figures, nearly 1,800 executives operating in the Distribution activity have benefited from an adapted training program, more than 920,000 customers have migrated to the new solution and 570 External Points of Sale have been equipped to carry out top-ups at proximity to customers, in addition to 206 ONEE Commercial Branches.

On another level, targeted local communication actions were carried out, throughout the deployment of the project, with the Local Authorities, the customers concerned and the partners of the Office (managers of External Points of Sale and Installers).

It should be noted that the success of this business project has become a reality, despite its last stages of deployment marked by an exceptional health context impacted by the Covid19.
