“Each of them serves something special. If we see a person who has 10 days of illness, the molecular type test will not help me, I have to do the serological test. It all depends on what we use them for ”, he added.
The minister explained that when possible failures are detected in the test batches these are retained, to later be returned to suppliers. That has happened, he explained, with about 50 thousand tests withheld in regions.
“The regions withheld about 50 thousand tests that had already been distributed. This is returned to the provider and simply a payment is not made, because they are not satisfied or the provider changes those tests for others, “he said.
At another time, the senior official maintained that ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine will continue to be prescribed, but for diseases other than COVID-19.
“Our ministry will continue to use these drugs for other diseases. (…) What our pharmaceutical chemists do is fill the prescriptions with the diagnosis. In the form of recipes, the diagnosis says ”, he sentenced.
