The husband of a young model who was allegedly beaten to death in her home was arrested.
Sabah Hafiz, 23, was found dead by neighbors in her Wentworthville apartment in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Her husband, Adam Cureton, 24, was initially not reported.
A manhunt was launched by New South Wales police, culminating in his arrest in Maroubra on Thursday morning.
Police footage of his arrest showed him shouting his wife’s name as he was lowered into the back of a police car.
He has yet to be officially charged.
A report of Sabah’s death is drawn up for the coroner.
Early investigations suggest the woman was attacked, said Detective Acting Superintendent Simon Glasser.
“It’s a tragic result,” he said.
“We take this very seriously and have set up a strike group to investigate the circumstances surrounding this murder.”
Sabah and Cureton both shared the apartment in Wentworthville, and the neighbors told 7NEWS they were relatively quiet.
She was estranged from her family and had been with Cureton for several years.
