DOMINIC West’s wife Catherine Fitzgerald was left “devastated and heartbroken” after seeing pictures of her husband kissing Lily James on a romantic getaway in Rome.

Pictures surfaced earlier this morning of the 50-year-old actor kissing 31-year-old Lily while enjoying an intimate break in Italy.
Dominic, who rose to fame as a love rat in The Affair, was seen making out his younger co-star, grabbing her bum, and snuggling up to her on an electric scooter while they gazed at the city’s sights.
A friend of Catherine’s has now revealed that they have rushed to the home of the Family of the West to comfort her – and she is understandably “devastated”.
They explained, “Catherine tried to speak to Dominic, but he doesn’t answer the phone.

“She is totally shocked because she didn’t know something was going on. They were very together so that’s completely out of the blue.
“She thought they had a good marriage and now it’s probably over.”
A separate pal added to MailOnline, “To say she’s in shock would be an understatement.
“She is heartbroken and has nothing to say publicly. She must be left alone and have some time for herself. ”

Catherine and Dominic have been married for a decade and share four children. 14 year old Dora, 12 year old Senan, 11 year old Francis and 7 year old Christabel.
Dominic is also the father of 20-year-old Martha from a previous relationship.
Meanwhile, The Sun announced earlier this month that Lily had finally broken up with The Crown actor Matt Smith after trying to restart their romance following their breakup last year after a five-year relationship.

She and Dominic are currently working on an adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s novel The Pursuit Of Love for BBC One and Amazon. Filming is scheduled to begin earlier this year.
The two were discovered when they spent two nights full of love in a suite in the glamorous Hotel De La Ville in Rome.
Dominic can be seen in the pictures stroking Lily’s hair while they have lunch together and smile at the beauty before they lean over for a kiss.
