A Lebanese woman sparked controversy by celebrating her 40th birthday with a party costing $ 28 million, spending $ 26 million on her jeweled dress alone.

A Lebanese woman spent 21.5 million pounds, equivalent to about 28 million US dollars, on a lavish party she held on the occasion of her 40th birthday. The jewelery dress she wore to the ceremony was worth about £ 20 million.

The British “Daily Mail” website reported that the Lebanese woman, whose name was not revealed, hosted a party in her palace in Mijas, Spain, attended by about 10 members of her family and close friends. And this ceremony was linked by means of the teleconferencing technology (video conference) with 20 small concerts held at the same time in different parts of the world, and 150 guests in total attended, in observance of social distancing measures.

The lady made sure all eyes were on her and wore a dress worth 20.1 million pounds, more than 26 million dollars. The specially designed dress for her is inspired by a modern Middle Eastern robe, and bears the signature of designer and artist Debbie Wingham, 38, who lives in Britain and who also organized the ceremony. The dress is studded with black, white, blue and yellow diamonds, as well as with pearls. The dress was also designed by digital artist Gary McQueen, the nephew of the late London fashion designer Alexander McQueen.

The lady wore a face shield adorned with a necklace from the Bulgari jewelery house, designed for the occasion, valued at £ 250,000. Each guest at the main ceremony in Spain was presented with a gift of a face shield adorned with a diamond bracelet, worth £ 65,000.
In view of the restrictions imposed by the “Covid 19” pandemic, which prevented all invitees from attending and participating personally in the main ceremony, the woman organized 20 small parties in different parts of the world, specifically in London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai, Paris, Tokyo and Moscow. And she sent a basket full of fine food and wine worth £ 16,000 to each of the 20 parties. She also made sure to send valuable gifts to her friends, who hosted parties on her behalf.
