The National Council of Resistance of Iran said, in a statement, that the youth of the uprising targeted the General Directorate of Prisons in Lorestan, in protest against the execution of Naid Afkari and Mustafa Salehi, and the death sentences issued against a number of the uprising youth.
He added that the General Directorate of Prisons is directly responsible for the torture and suppression of thousands of prisoners in Lorestan Governorate, calling for the executioners who run the center to be brought to justice for their crimes against humanity.
He pointed out that the attack on the center of repression was welcomed by the citizens, many of whom were subjected to repression and torture inside that center.
This is not the first time that the youth of the uprising has attacked the institutions of torture in Iran. Earlier, opponents attacked a court building in the city of Shiraz (south), which ruled the execution of wrestler Nawid Afkari.
A statement issued by the People’s Mojahedin Organization, which opposes the Iranian regime, revealed that the youths burned the entrance to the court building.
The execution of Nawid Afkari sparked a wave of anger and condemnation among the pioneers of social media and human rights organizations internationally, as international human rights and sports organizations demanded that sanctions be imposed on the Iranian regime to implement a death sentence against the young wrestler.
