Hezbollah’s weapons drop sarcasm in the battle of “border demarcation”

With the announcement of the Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, Hezbollah’s main ally in the country, of a framework agreement to open negotiations on the borders between Lebanon and Israel under the umbrella of the United Nations and with an American effort, social media platforms ignited criticism of the pro-Iranian militia.

Over the past decades, Hizbullah justified its holding of weapons outside the framework of the Lebanese state by the resistance’s claims and its refusal to engage in negotiations with Israel.

A wide spectrum of observers believe that any decision to negotiate with Israel is possible only with a green light from Hezbollah and its successor, Tehran.

The border demarcation in Lebanon was marked and a party of criticism of the position of the Hezbollah militia, which led the country to “economic ruin”, ended up accepting negotiations.

The Lebanese people also welcomed the opening of the door to the “voice of reason”, and the Lebanese journalist Yazbek Wehbe wrote on his account, saying, “The demarcation of borders is a first step towards benefiting from our oil rights in a difficult time … Greetings to everyone who contributed to reaching the framework agreement and to those who will complete the negotiation up to To the final agreement. ”

For his part, political activist Nawfal Daou said sarcastically at the slogans of Hezbollah, wondering why it kept weapons, “Does the announcement of the framework agreement on demarcating the borders between Lebanon, Israel, the United States and the United Nations mean that the Iranian duo is in Lebanon (referring to Hezbollah and the Amal movement)? He acknowledged the principle that Lebanon’s southern borders are with Israel and not with “Occupied Palestine”? Has the slogan of “liberating Jerusalem” fallen out?

For his part, former MP Faris Saeed, speaking of Hezbollah’s control over Lebanon and the near end of its influence, said, “Hezbollah decides on war, then peace, and the rest is doing business (referring to the difficulty of forming governments that would extend the life of caretaker governments).

He added, “Hezbollah’s narrative based on the war against Israel collapses, and with it its influence collapses. No team wins in return, Lebanon will win, all of Lebanon without discrimination.”

The media, Omar Harqous, also launched a sarcastic attack on the pro-Iranian militia, saying: “Lebanon Berri, Aoun (Lebanese President Michel Aoun) and Nasrallah ended negotiations of the normalization agreement with Israel under the name of border demarcation, and some formal matters that must be completed .. such as dealing with junk “The missiles that Hezbollah possesses, the borders were opened between the two countries, and the exchange of ambassadors. Journalist and activist Carole Maalouf linked the decision of the agreement on demarcating the borders to the Israeli prime minister’s statement about the existence of Hezbollah weapons depots in Beirut, “indicating to Hezbollah’s subjugation, and attached her tweet with a comment,” Glory be to God, how coincidences happen. ”

Hezbollah refuses to put up its weapons for negotiation under the pretext of resistance to Israel, but it used weapons in its political battle at home to force its opponents to submit, and the last of these interventions was when its members attacked protesters against the deteriorating economic conditions in the country since last October.

The party fought a war against Israel in 2006, which inflicted heavy losses on Lebanon, but the party’s literature spoke of its victory in that war.

Lebanon is seeking international aid to confront the most violent economic crisis in the country since the civil war, but Hezbollah’s survival in power hinders the matter, while more European countries classify the militia loyal to Iran as a terrorist organization.
