The Foundation announced that it will organize a series of film screenings and art workshops as part of its fall 2020 educational program, in the building whose restoration process included two new additions designed to complement the building spatially and programmatically, the first being an outdoor platform, which is an open public space designed to serve as a spatial extension of the flying saucer, and the second is Underground space, which includes several sections.

The program of activities includes a set of educational workshops and film screenings for young people, families and art lovers, which will be held throughout the months of September and October. Some of them are devoted to photography as a “green screen” workshop that was launched the day before yesterday, and devoted to basic graphic and digital techniques through the use of the two programs “Photoshop” , And ilustrator.

As for the workshop on “Shutter Speed ​​in Photography”, which will be launched on the third of next October, it will allow learning to take a variety of pictures using the different shutter speed settings in the cameras. The workshop “Portraits” will focus on 10 October, on the basics of camera settings and photo-capture techniques.

On the other hand, the “Selective Photography Tours” workshop on October 17th will focus on mechanisms for documenting ideas. Participants will be asked to search for objects after providing them with a list of them, and to photograph them with an instant Polaroid camera, in parallel with exploring the Sharjah Art Foundation neighborhood. While the rest of the workshops are concerned with a variety of arts such as calligraphy, drawing and painting, such as the “Introduction to Calligraphy” workshop that is organized tomorrow, and is devoted to Arabic calligraphy, examining the basic Arabic written texts, and methods of simulating and practicing them. The “Tile Forming” workshop on the 6th of October allows participants to paint directly on ceramic tiles, and add various color components and designs.

As for the “Complete Painting” workshop on October 13th, one of the participants will create a drawing that he passes to others one by one, to add their touch to the drawing, in a way that helps develop creative thinking and learn about a variety of different drawing methods. The film screenings include, my film: “Metropolis” directed by Fritz Lang, which will be shown on October 2 (8:30 pm), and depicts the sharp division of the great future city of Metropolis between the wealthy who lead a comfortable and luxurious life and a working class under the weight of exploitation.
