A major Covid-19 screening campaign in Abu Dhabi has helped drive infection rates below one per cent of those tested in the city, officials confirmed.

More than 380,000 people across the capital have been tested during the National Screening Programme so far this month.

Earlier on Sunday, the UAE authorities announced a further 392 cases of coronavirus, taking the total number of infections in the country to 44,925.

Globally, there have been 8.7 million cases, causing more than 463,000 fatalities.
