According to reports, lion grabbed the arm of the zookeper while he was feeding the animal
Kanu struggled for more than 40 seconds to break free her hand from the jaws of the lion and was immediately taken to hospital. Kanoo has been feeding and cleaning cages of the animals for the past five years, according to Geo TV.
Kanoo said it was his duty to feed the animals daily but on the day of the incident, his hand had slipped and the lion got a hold of him. The zoo director, Qamar Ayub, had assured him of complete support, as well as assistance in his medical treatment, he added.
Qamar Ayub said that it was an unfortunate incident. “We are providing best possible treatment to him and hope that he would be back home in two to three days.”
Ayub added that Kanu had violated the zoo’s rules for feeding the lions and had approached the animals from the wrong end of the enclosure.
