The Right Stuff is loosely based on the film of the same name from the 80s and transports you into the difficult sides of the early days of the US space program. In eight episodes, we follow the Mercury Seven – seven pilots inducted into the space program – and the impact competitive work and media testing have had on their families. While The Right Stuff isn’t exactly breaking new ground, it’s a handsome, expert look at NASA in the 50s and 60s.

Marvel’s agent Carter was criminally short in two seasons, and gave whip-savvy Peggy Carter the opportunity to show off her action-hero side. The series is set after their love that Steve Rogers sacrifices at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger. She focuses on Peggy’s adventurous life in New York in the 1940s, where she tapes a somewhat dangerous appearance helping the genius scientist Howard Stark and his butler Jarvis. Hayley Atwell channels a sense of sassy fun in this stylish Marvel TV gem.

This late 90s sitcom pushes sweet nostalgia and also plays one of the coolest and cutest child actors out there. Tahj Mowry plays the young genius TJ Henderson and manages to be a likeable know-it-all. Comedy aside, TJ’s heart to heart with his single father are tears in their eyes. It’s a little dated, but it’s one of the best sitcoms with a young black actor.

Six teenagers with superpowers fight together against their criminal parents – that is the fascinating premise of Marvel’s runaways. Eventually the team runs and escapes their parents, as well as Morgan le Fay and other villains. Despite the occasional reliance on standard superhero stories, this strong ensemble will grow on you along with the broader references of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and general exciting action. If you are a fan of the comics, you will be satisfied.
