Irish musician Caroline Corr has decided to separate from her husband Frank Woods after 18 years of marriage.
Corr married the property developer in Spain in 2002 and had three children with him: 17 year old Jake, 16 year old Georgina and 13 year old Rihann.
Caroline brought the news through an Instagram post and shared a photo of Katherine Woodward Thomas’ book ‘Conscious Uncoupling’, 5 Steps to Living Happily.
The drummer titled the post: “This book has been around for a long time and I’m certainly not the first or the last to mention it, but I only really started to understand and like the term conscious disengagement when I went through my own breakup a few months ago after many, many years of marriage.
“The conscious effort to maintain a good, loving and respectful relationship with my ex has helped both of us and our children in particular.
“I am also so aware and understand that this may not always be possible for many couples due to pain, fear, anger, and loneliness.
“These transitions are not easy for anyone, and we get by and do our best. I would recommend this inspiring and supportive book to anyone going through the difficult transition of separation or divorce. ”
The announcement of Caroline’s divorce comes just a year after her sister Sharon separated from her husband Gavin Bonner after nine years of marriage.
Sharon and Gavin were married in August 2011 at St. John’s Church in Cratloe, which was followed by a reception at the Dromoland Castle Hotel.
Together with their brother Jim and sister Andrea, Sharon and Caroline founded The Corrs from 1990 to 2006, when they took a long break until 2015 and released their latest album Jupiter calls only three years ago.
