WWE draft results revealed

The 2020 WWE draft took place on SmackDown and Raw last week and didn’t show a lack of roster switching, according to the official breakdown of the draft on WWE.com.

Some of the biggest SmackDown-to-Raw leaps include AJ Styles, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, Braun Strowman, Matt Riddle and Jeff Hardy. Some of the biggest names from Raw to SmackDown were Seth Rollins, Rey and Dominik Mysterio, Bianca Belair, The Street Profits, Kevin Owens and Aleister Black.

Several additional draft picks were announced after Raw went off the air. Raw picked Lana, Riddick Moss and Arturo Ruas, while SmackDown picked Natalya and The Riott Squad to top off the women’s section.

There were also some free agent signatures

Zelina Vega, Billie Kay and Tamina go to SmackDown, and Erik from The Viking Raiders stays on Raw.

After essentially a year and a half of using the same rosters, both Raw and SmackDown needed an urgent move, and there is little doubt that WWE achieved just that.

There are suddenly far more intriguing matchups on the table than before, and some Superstars who have retrospectively thought about their previous brand might finally get a chance to shine.

Some loose ends will be tied in Hell in a Cell on October 25th, but once this pay-per-view comes and goes the door will be open to new rivalries and storylines on both Raw and SmackDown.

Balor is operated on on his broken jaw

NXT Champion Finn Balor gave an update on his jaw injury against Kyle O’Reilly on NXT TakeOver 31 Monday night.

Balor tweeted a photo of himself in the hospital and wrote that he had undergone “successful surgery” for the injury:

that he broke his jaw in two places because of his tough game against O’Reilly.

Despite the injury and the fact that his mouth was bleeding, Balor managed to prevail and beat O’Reilly to keep the NXT title in arguably one of the best games of 2020, regardless of company or brand .

Balor didn’t perform live on NXT last week, and there was no announcement when he’ll be returning to the Black-Gold brand.

Injuries to top Superstars have been a problem at NXT lately as Killer Kross was forced to give up the NXT Championship a few weeks ago, just days after winning Keith Lee.

There has been no sign that Balor will give in to the example as well, but the NXT Championship and its holder may not be on TV in the coming weeks, which will put additional pressure on the midcard and women’s division.

However, NXT has no shortage of talent in both the men’s and women’s sections, which means the show should stay entertaining with Balor on the shelf as well.

Mustafa Ali Tweets During Raw

Although he and the rest of Retribution didn’t show up on the Monday night episode of Raw, Mustafa Ali still made his presence felt.

Ali went to Twitter and posted a cryptic message:

He also asked why Raw chose Retribution in the WWE draft, even though he knew their goal is to destroy the brand and WWE as a whole:

Last week, Ali was exposed as the surprise leader of retaliation. When the group interrupted a match between Ali and MVP, Ali Retribution ordered The Hurt Business to be destroyed.

Fans probably expected to hear an explanation on Monday for why Ali created Retribution, but the WWE Universe will have to wait at least a week for it.

With the WWE draft and multiple games, Raw has been a bit of a mess this week. Perhaps waiting until next week will give Ali and Retribution a bigger spotlight.

Retribution has been a huge part of Raw for the past few weeks, and the reveal of Ali as the leader could mean the talented superstar is finally ready for the big boost he deserves.

With the Survivor series on November 22nd, Retribution will play an important role in the lead up to this show and be part of a major playoff.
