Jack White honored Eddie Van Halen in the most respectful way...

Jack White fell in Saturday night live last weekend to deliver a performance with two days notice – after country musician Morgan Waller was not invited to the show.

In White’s performance, the musician worked through a number of the most valuable cuts from his catalog, including Beyoncé’s collaboration “Don’t Hurt Yourself” and “Lazaretto”. He also played a revised version of White Stripes 2003 track ‘Ball And Biscuit’, which he interpolated with lyrics from ‘Jesus Is Coming Soon’, a gospel song about the Spanish flu originally performed by Blind Willie Johnson.

For his performance of ‘Lazaretto’, Jack White paid tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen by carrying a guitar that the late rocker had designed for him.

“I thought it might be a nice touch for me to use this Eddie van Halen blue model guitar for one of the songs tonight on SNL,” he wrote. “The guitar was designed by Eddie (with a few adjustments that I added).

“Eddie was very nice to me and made sure that this guitar was made for me according to my specifications. I’m not even going to offend the man’s talent by trying to play one of his songs tonight. Thank you again Eddie for that guitar and rest in peace sir. ”
