A young man in his thirties was killed by jumping after he threw his daughter from the balcony of his fifth-floor apartment in the Talbieh area in Giza Governorate in Egypt, to escape the fire that trapped them inside the apartment.
According to eyewitnesses, the young man’s wife went out to buy her needs, accompanied by their two children, “two sons”, and left their five-year-old daughter with her father to get used to the tragedy of the husband’s death.
And it was after Friday prayers, when Muhammad Hamdi shouted from the balcony of his apartment: “Follow me.. my apartment is Tulaa.” None of the neighbors could enter the apartment to get him and his daughter trapped in the fire.
The parents immediately brought mattresses, in anticipation of the father and daughter jumping on them, after he repeated: “I will target my daughter, and then I will follow her.”
According to witnesses, the girl fell on the mattress and was hit in the brain and bled, but her father fell to the ground.
In a scene that frightened all the parents, an ambulance carried the father’s body after the police and the Public Prosecution arrived to Al Haram General Hospital to conduct the necessary debates and determine the cause of death in preparation for the burial permit. It also carried his daughter to the same hospital to receive the necessary treatment, according to Al Masry Al Youm newspaper.
After the wife arrived at the scene of the accident and found out what had happened to her family, she became hysterical, screaming: “This heater was working, it worked like a diamond in the apartment.”
The civil protection forces pushed 3 cars and were able to control the fire and prevent its spread to the rest of the residential apartments in the property. The elements of forensic evidence examined the effects of the fire to determine its beginning and end and the tools used in its creation and to ensure that there was no criminal suspicion, and the security services are conducting investigations in this regard.
