Then, CommonPass verifies that the traveler complies with the conditions and creates a passenger code that can be easily accessed by airline and border personnel everywhere.

In this regard, says Dr. Bradley Perkins, project officer and former director of strategy and innovation at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: The lack of confidence in the Covid-19 tests on a global level has caused many countries to continue measures to close borders and travel bans, coinciding with the continuing outbreak of the epidemic.

Perkins believes that “relying on reliable health data will enable countries to implement more accurate procedures for checking travelers’ entry.”

Circulating experience

The “Common Pass” system is currently being tested on some flights between London and New York, and between Hong Kong and Singapore, via Cathay Pacific and United Airlines, while the implementation of the plan is expected to expand through other airlines in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

The project is expected to be implemented in cooperation with representatives of the governments of 37 countries around the world, and partners from the public and private sectors.
