INDONESIA WANTS TO “QUICKLY” FINALIZE THE PURCHASE OF 48 RAFALE AIRCRAFT, DEPENDING ON THE TRIBUNE

PARIS (Reuters) – Indonesia wants to quickly finalize an agreement on the purchase of 48 Rafale fighter jets designed and produced by Dassault Aviation, writes the La Tribune website on Thursday, citing several corroborating sources.

Paris and Djakarta also intend to sign a defense cooperation agreement.

La Tribune indicates that the Indonesians “would like to move very quickly and would even like an agreement before the end of the year, while the French negotiators would like to take a little time to close an agreement in a meticulous way”.

The case was raised at the end of October during the visit to Paris of the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, who, according to La Tribune, reiterated the “keen interest” of Jakarta in the Rafale.

Reuters was unable to immediately verify the accuracy of this article.
