(ICL) announced that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Fertiláqua, one of Brazil’s leading companies in the field of specialty fertilizers, for approximately $ 120 million. The purpose of the acquisition is to expand ICL’s product range in the field of specialty fertilizers and to increase its customer base and presence in the agricultural areas of Brazil, which the company marks as one of the fastest growing agricultural markets in the world. Fertiláqua is controlled by Aqua Capital, a private venture capital fund specializing in agriculture and food.

With over 100 different products, including those marketed under the leading brands Aminoagro, Dimicron and Maximus, Fertilaqua offers a range of solutions for the full life cycle of the plant, including soil regeneration, seed treatment and plant health in all major growing areas in Brazil, for soybeans, Corn, sugar cane, cotton, coffee, fruits and vegetables.

Fertiláqua has a presence in 24 Brazilian countries and provides service and distribution to more than 500 customers, including retailers, cooperatives and large farms. Fertiláqua employs over 350 workers, has two production sites as well as two research and development centers. Since its inception, Fertiláqua has shown growth at an average annual rate of over 15%.
