BYD sales of new energy vehicles rose 45% in September

Data released by BYD, the leading Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles, showed a strong rebound in its sales during the month of September.
According to what was reported by the “German” agency, the company said in a file to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange that it sold 1,881 new energy cars last month, up 43.3 percent year on year, and an increase of 30.1 percent on a monthly basis.
During the January-September period, BYD sold 110,941 of these cars, a decrease of 42.4 percent year on year. However, the decline narrowed from 49.1 percent during the January-August period thanks to the recovery in September.
Despite the decline in sales in new energy vehicles, BYD recorded a rebound in sales of gasoline-powered cars during the first nine months of 2020, as it sold 151,034 gasoline-powered cars, an increase of 10.4 percent year-on-year.
