Emirates Airlines provides its customers in with kiosks to self-check-in, today, Thursday, October 1, 2020 01:12 a.m.

History: 01 October 2020

Emirates Airlines has unveiled an automated system for checking-in and baggage delivery in Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport. The service is currently available to passengers to all destinations of the carrier except for the United States of America, Canada, China, India and Hong Kong due to the additional requirements of these countries.

The 16 new self-delivery machines and the eight self-kiosks are added to the check-in counters managed by Emirates Airline employees, and contribute to reducing customers’ waiting time during peak periods and improving their experience at Dubai International Airport. More self-service facilities are scheduled to be added in the coming months.

Kiosks for customers

The kiosks allow customers to complete travel procedures, extract boarding passes, choose their seats, and deliver bags. Although Emirates Airline staff are there to provide assistance, these facilities are completely self-catering and allow customers to pass through the airport and go directly to the passport control department. The facilities are cleaned and sterilized frequently, and hand sanitizers are available for customers.

Investments

This step is part of Emirates Airlines’ continuous investments in products and services to ensure that customers have a distinct travel experience in the skies and on the ground.

This innovation was developed internally in cooperation with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects and Dubai Airports. The check-in booths will be constantly updated to provide new features in the future, including the transition to a touch-free experience and the opportunity for customers to change travel reservations themselves.
